And Home again...
Merry Christmas!!
In the Dominican Republic, we celebrate on Christmas Eve. We eat and eat and eat all night and stay up late with family and friends sharing and eating (mostly eating) -- but I have never truly experienced a Dominican Christmas because I have never been "home" on the 24th. I've always come back to Canada to be with my family here for Navidad. As that may change in the next few years, I am extremely grateful to be spending this Christmas with family and friends here in Canada. I look forward to tomorrow with the Harrison clan (hello to the other Harrisons in Northern Ireland!! and Merry Christmas!!) -- and I look forward to more time I am going to spend with family and friends before I head home to the Dominican just before the "Day of the Kings" which is the 6th of January.
Thanks for all your prayers as I have endeavoured to explore many missional avenues over these last number of years. I look forward to being active in inviting groups in the future (including the March Break team 2012) and also look forward to this next chapter that God has for my life. I appreciate all those continued prayers for "decisions for my future" as I return home to the Dominican in the New Year. I have another MEd course in January -- among other things -- to do when I get my feet back on island soil. :)
I hope that each of you have a very blessed Christmas with friends and family no matter where in the world you are and that you will really sense the warmth of God's presence among you as you celebrate together.
Thanks for all your prayers.
I will update you again in the near future...
Lots of love,
Shannon
